City Tours Cusco
A half day guided tour would be a perfect introduction to Cusco, running every day (Monday to Sunday). It includes all the main sites in the centre of town such as the main Cathedral and Koricanca as well as the four main ruins on the outskirts of Cusco (Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Tambomachay and Puka Pukara). This tour includes transportation.

How does it work?
You will be picked up from the reception of your hostel at 13:00 pm. Then you will walk to the Cathedral and visit it for around 45 minutes after words Qori Qancha is the next stop spending another 45 minutes to visit it.
Before Sunset will set down you will visit the archeological park and fort of Sacsayhuaman, K'enko funerary centre, Pucapucara, a fort formed by terraces, passages, towers, vaults and platforms, and Tambomachay, known as the Inca's bath and made up of four walls inter-connected by small steps.
You will see the crystal clear waters where the Inca paid homage to the water deity; as well as Koricancha (the temples of the Sun, Moon and Stars. Entrance is s/10 and the Cathedral entrance is s/25 and not included on the tourist tickets, home of fine colonial art.

In addition to the tour price, you must purchase a tourist ticket:
A full tourist ticket costs s/130 or s/70 for students with a valid ISIC card.
The full tourist ticket is valid for 10 days and allows entry to the majority of the Inca sites around Cusco and the Sacred Valley. This is a better option if you plan on also combining the city tour, or visiting any of the archaeological sites outside the Sacred Valley in Cusco.
An alternative option is to buy a partial tourist ticket which is s/70 or s/40 for students with a valid ISIC card and is valid for 1 day
Please note, tourist tickets do not include entry to Koricancha or the Cathedral. Entrance to Koricancha is s/10 or s/5 for students.

The Inca Trail will be closed in February for upkeep and maintenance work

From January 15 to March 31 will run the maintenance and conservation of the Inca trails leading to the citadel of Machu Picchu and, as usual, the access to these trails will be closed to visitors in February, said a regional authority.
"Everything is ready for the hard work of the maintenance of the trail, we have the equipment, tools and materials needed for this work," he said.
